How We Rank Credit Cards

Our ranking methodology is fully independent. No bank or financial institution pays to influence our scores, rankings, or editorial content.

Editorial Independence Policy

CreditCardRanker operates with complete editorial independence. Our rankings, scores, and recommendations are determined solely by our scoring methodology — not by commercial relationships with banks or card issuers.

No bank pays to appear at the top of any list
No card is excluded because a bank did not partner with us
Affiliate commissions do not influence scores or rankings
Cards are re-evaluated when fee structures or benefits change
Negative aspects (high fees, limited benefits) are reported accurately
All 7 banks and 100+ cards are evaluated on identical criteria

Affiliate Disclosure

CreditCardRanker may earn a referral commission when you apply for a credit card through links on our site. The issuing bank pays this commission — it does not add any cost to you or change the card terms you receive.

Affiliate arrangements exist with some — but not all — banks in our catalogue. Cards from non-partner banks are ranked and displayed identically. Our scoring algorithm is applied uniformly regardless of affiliate status.

Scoring Methodology

Each card receives an overall score (0–100) computed as a weighted average across 6 dimensions. Scores are recalculated whenever card terms change.
